Chris Weaver and Tammy Donnell Weaver are the faces behind the Brand.
WD is for Weaver-Donnell.
Chris has been in the equine industry 40+ years. He started creating equine leather products in 1993. Chris’s experience in the equine industry has spanned a lifetime from growing up showing horses, competing in the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Assn for over 10 years, retail store owner, national sales rep, director of sales, consulting, and most recently Vice-President of Bob’s Custom Saddles. Chris has designed countless new equine products for leading manufacturers.
After a 3.5 year health battle, Chris made the decision to follow his passion and launch his own Brand. Priorities definitely change when faced with a health crisis. Tammy was also faced with a health battle which delayed the launch of the Brand until early 2024.
Tammy also has a lifelong history in the equine industry. She grew up on a large cattle/horse ranch in the mountains. She has shown and trained horses, an AQHA Judge for 20 years, started, grown, and sold retail and manufacturing businesses, is an award winning photographer, and has 20+ years in marketing.
WD Leather LLC was created on the foundation of uncompromising quality, trust, integrity, and authenticity. A true testament of commitment to the equine industry and the western lifestlye.

In addition to the leather products, a brand new line of innovative bits designed specifically for the wester equine performance industry was born out of a partnership with Master Bit Maker, Greg Darnall. Greg has designed these, never before released, bits exclusively for WD Bits. The initial launch includes 9 new bits designs.
WD Leather LLC leather products are all made in the USA and include multiple options of One Ear Headstalls, Browband Headstalls, Double & Stitched and Harness Reins, Leather Curbs, Breast Collars, and many other items.

What makes these leather products different is in the details. No corner is cut to create the highest quality leather product available. The first detail that is immediately noticed upon picking up a headstall or a pair of reins is the way they FEEL. They are buttery-soft, smooth, and supple. The FEEL is just different. The reins FEEL amazing on day 1, not after riding with them for a year. The headstalls have the same buttery-soft, smooth, and supple FEEL and are also designed with the horse in mind. The seems are finished on the inside to have one continuous smooth feel, no more rub spots on horses. The leather conforms to the horse's head and each part of the headstall is designed to FIT.
